Three events set for Smithers Chamber Week

The Smithers District Chamber of Commerce’s Chamber Week kicks off on Monday.

The week is celebrated across the province with several events happening locally.

“It’s really a week to highlight our services. All about collaboration, advocacy, innovation, and celebrating the progress we’ve made and looking ahead,” said Chamber Manager Sheena Miller.

The week starts with the Chamber Coffee and Connection Monday morning starting at 10:30.

“That’s an awesome opportunity for someone to come and explore what a chamber does,” she said.

Miller added the chamber is known to host the Northwest Trade Expo and Community Business Awards, with their other services sometimes being missed.

The chamber also hosts a Business After Hours event during the week centered around networking and building local connections.

This year’s event is at the Coast Mountain College on Thursday because of their 50th anniversary.

“We really want to feature all the amazing things they offer and the programs they have,” said Miller.

Closing the week is an elected leader’s luncheon on Friday.

“It’s just an opportunity to hear from local elected leaders as they discuss key achievements, initiatives, and milestones shaping Smithers, Telkwa, and the Bulkley Nechako region,” she said.

A full schedule and more event details can be found on the Smithers Chamber website.
