Sunny Family Day coming up in the region

Chilly weather should be a thing of the past by Family Day (Monday) in the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District.

According to Environment Canada, an arctic front entered the region that dropped temperatures below normal starting January 31st.

“Once that cold arctic air settles across BC, it doesn’t want to move anywhere and that’s why pretty much for the entire month of February it’s been sitting there and providing colder temperatures,” said Meteorologist Colin Fong

A pacific front is expected to start moving through the region tomorrow (Friday), raising temperatures closer to normal.

“With that warm weather there could also be by the end of next week some rain instead of snow,” said Fong.

Monday is expected to be sunny with a high of –2 with overnight temperatures in the low single digit.
