The College of New Caledonia (CNC) in Burns Lake is looking for Indigenous vendors for their upcoming Indigenous Artisan Market.
This is part of their larger Indigenous Culture Week that’s been running for several years.
“We’ve had a really great turn out of indigenous artisans both local and across the region,” said Aboriginal Advisor and Wellness Coach Tansy Benedict.
Several other events are planned for the week with the market happening March 21st.
“It’s just a really great way to educate and provide cultural awareness for our students, staff, and the wider community,” said Benedict.
On March 19th, the college is hosting a screening of the documentary Sugarcane along with a traditional salmon feast.
A game of Lahal, an indigenous stick and bone game, will be hosted the next day.
The deadline to submit an application to be a vendor is March 7th.
More information can be found on the CNC website.
