RCMP throughout Canada will have a closer eye on the roads this month.
Police will be performing extra check stops to keep potential under-the-influence drivers off the road during the Holiday party season.
Burns Lake Corporal Terry Gillespie says he’s seen first hand the effects of driving under the influence.
“I’ve been to far too many collisions that have been caused by impaired driving, including fatalities, and it’s just heartbreaking,” he says, “I would definitely like to avoid having to go to any more of those so I urge everybody to plan ahead.”
As part of a National initiative, all Canadian RMCP detachments will be performing roadside checks on the evening of Friday, December 4th.
