Alex Cuba will have to plan another trip to California.
The Smithers resident’s latest album “Healer” has been nominated for the Best Latin Pop Album at this year’s Grammy Awards.
This is his second Grammy nomination in this category, having been nominated for his self-titled album in 2011. He shared with MooseFM where he was when he heard the news.
“I woke up at 6 AM on [Monday]. I leave my phone near me, near the bed, and I got a text from somebody from Miami telling me I was nominated,” he says, “from that point on I couldn’t sleep.”
It’s been a busy year for Cuba, who recently won the Best Singer-Songwriter Album award at the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas.
The 58th annual Grammy awards will be in Los Angeles on February 16th.
