Smithers Council will soon release a survey asking for public input on downtown signage.
Council approved a 13-question audit Tuesday night. Questions touch on things like general aesthetics and types of lighting.
Mayor Taylor Bachrach says it’s time to get back on track with a consistent set of rules, and enforcement of them.
“Smithers has different rules than some other communities, and over time those rules have created the kind of feel that we have downtown,” he says, “what happens this year is that we become aware that, even though we have rules in place, not everyone was aware of the rules, not everybody was following them.”
The survey will be available online and on paper until January 25th.
