The community of Smithers has been supporting the family of a young girl diagnosed with cancer a month ago through an online auction and Facebook page called ‘Mackstrong.’
The money helps support the parents of Mackinley Unruh who’s seeking treatment at the sick kids hospital in Vancouver.
Friend of the family Nicole Davey helped start the community support.
“The love and support of out community is incredible and we’ve seen time and time again where people in our community step up.”
There will be a basketball charity game next Thursday at the Smithers Secondary School to help support the young girl.
