A sign controversy in the town of Smithers has hopefully been laid to rest
Sedaz Lingerie will be allowed three signs rather than two as a part of the variance allowed by council
Mayor Taylor Bachrach responded to a question about a legal battle the town had with the issue
“What we’ve done is we’ve granted them a variance on the sign by-law, and obviously there’s conversations that lead up to that. And I think that council is pleased that there is a resolution that satisfies all parties,” says Bachrach.
The variance permit allows 2 projecting signs and one fascia sign for the downtown store.
The other by-law only allows two signs, with only one that can be a projecting sign and only one per entrance.
