Police also say the suspect or suspects had fled the area prior to the RCMP’s arrival.

The Major Crime Unit has assumed conduct of the investigation, and are being deployed to the community.

“Anyone with information about the man’s death who has yet to speak with investigators is urged to contact police immediate,” said Staff Sergeant Kris Clark of the BC RCMP.

Clark added this appears to be an isolated and targeted incident.

The investigation remains in its early stages and no further information is available at this time.
