Wendy Brown: Ready to Run

A Burns Lake woman will be running 23 km to help out an individual in need.

Wendy Brown will run from Francois Lake to Burns Lake on Sunday, June 7th to raise money and awareness for Rhoda Williams, a 40-year old hospitalized mother of four with a severe liver disease.

After losing her own sister to failed liver, Wendy knew she had to get involved after hearing Rhoda’s story.

“I couldn’t say no. I’d seen post after post on facebook saying they needed help and I needed to do something,” she says.

Rhoda has recently become a top priority for a liver transplant.

Sunday will be the second run Wendy is doing for Rhoda (the first one was on May 25th). She will begin at 8 am at Ferry Landing in Francois Lake and end at Spirit Square in Burns Lake a few hours later.

She will be running at a casual pace with a 5th-grade girl named Ashley, and invites all other runners to come out as well:
