A 45-year-old cyclist was sent to hospital with a broken lower left leg after being struck by a pick-up truck Sunday morning in Smithers.
Police say the driver of a 2008 Dodge Dakota pick-up failed to see the cyclist turning onto 8th Ave. from an alley after the driver of the truck was turning northbound onto 8th Ave. from Main St.
The cyclist was struck by the front right passenger side of the truck at low speed.
The driver of the truck is facing Motor Vehicle Act charges.
The cyclist was sent to Prince George Hospital for surgery.
