Burns Lake tax payers save over 475k on water tower thanks to fund increase

Costs to taxpayers in Burns Lake will be effectively slashed in half for the new water tower after the Union of BC Municipalities announced some cost sharing dollars today. (FRI)

that means local communities will be paying 16 per cent less into the clean water and waste water fund with the province and feds topping it up to 540.1 million dollars.

The 5th Ave. water tower replacement will cost taxpayers a little over 428 thousand dollars now, with previous estimates pegged at 900 thousand.

The anticipated start date for construction is December 15th costing a total of over 2.5 million.
