The train will be getting a bit quieter in Houston thanks to a grant

It will be a little quieter in Houston thanks to a Rail Safety Improvement grant.

The district now has $160,000 to buy crossing arms for the rail crossing in town

The district says that will eliminate the need for the train to use its whistle as it approaches the crossing.

Chief Administration Officer Michael Glavin says they’ve been lobbying for the funding for a while.
