A multi marathon run has already raised over $5,000 for Boarding for Brant

To raise money for the non profit group Boarding for Brant, Anita Marshall is running 21 kilometers a day for 21 days raising 10 dollars a kilometer. She’s the aunt of Brant, who was taken in a tragic accident in 2013. The group was started honouring his selfless nature.

Beating her goal of 44 hundred, Marshall’s fund raised over 5 thousand dollars that will go to the group that helps disadvantaged youth connect with activities like snow boarding.

“I work at Smithers Secondary school, and I actually had a young boy come up to me and he was so excited that he was getting sponsored to be able to snowboard a little bit over the winter,” says Teresa Monkman, Marshall’s Friend who says the Smithers based group helps youth across the community.

The 21 kilometers a day over 21 days represents the 21st birthday Brant missed.

“Brant was the kind of kid that would instead of upgrading his snow board and getting money back for it he would give it to a young kid who can use it and can’t afford to get one.”

Marshall, also the director of the organization, will be running for almost another week to finish off the multi marathon run.
