Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs feel snubed by Premiere Clark

The office of the Wet’suwet’en feels snubbed by Premiere Christy Clark after she apparently turned down a request to meet on reconciliation talks this week while travelling through Smithers.

“Our Chiefs have worked tirelessly this past year researching and drafting a framework agreement that reflects our Wet’suwet’en rights and title interests. This calls into question the sincerity of Premier Clark and her government’s commitment to work with the Wet’suwet’en,’ says Cheif Namoks, otherwise known as John Ridsdale.

The Moose will be reaching out to Clark for comment at a meet and greet with residents and businesses through the Chamber of Commerce at the Aspen River House at 4:15 p.m. today.
