$14,000 raised for Terry Fox in Burns Lake

The Lakes District community ran, cycled, and walked along Francois Lake on Sept. 20 to raise funds for the Terry Fox Foundation.

It was the 46th year the event has run in Burns Lake, raising about $14,000 between donations and the silent auction.

“It’s just a little town but a little town with a big heart and they really support this,” said organizer Derek Feldmann.

He said about 120 people participated in the event with live entertainment and a barbeque also happening.

The next Terry Fox Run is set for Sept. 19, 2027.
