The concession at the arena in Houston is changing hands this season.
Council awarded Kelly Rennie the contract to run the food stand at last night’s meeting.
She is hoping to make a couple of changes soon.
“We are trying to do a healthy program,” she says. “One of the reasons I wanted the lease is because I’ve been to hockey games and it was out of the way to go to the store and get it [healthy food] while trying to get your kid ready.”
The district invited proposals for the lease but Rennie was the only one to submit one by the deadline. The Houston Minor Hockey League previously run the concession but opted out this year.
Rennie is hoping to open the stand either this weekend or early next week.
