Shelter prepping for colder temps

The Broadway Shelter in Smithers is preparing for cooling temperatures.
Smithers Community Services Association director, Cathryn Olmstead says there are currently nine beds but if it gets really cold, they can now accomodate two more people.
“We’ve just worked on an agreement with BC Housing so we can provide two extra beds in the event of extreme weather,” she says.
Olmstead adds they are always looking for donations of blankets, coats and gloves. Anyone interested in donating, can drop off items at the shelter on Broadway Avenue.
