The Smithers RCMP and the Northwest Traffic Services are warning drivers about driving this season.
This month they are focusing on ‘Speed Relative to Conditions’
Staff Sgt Kirsten Marshall says a driver may be ticketed while driving within the posted speed limit if road conditions are severe.
Officers are also preparing for their Winter Counter Attack program for the holidays.
Marshall says this past weekend saw four immediate roadside prohibitions issued to impaired drivers.
She wants to warn the public that more officers will be out looking for impaired drivers and to plan for a safe ride home.
