Telkwa Fire Rescue is starting up a new program geared to youth that will teach fire fighting and medical skills.
Fire Chief Randy Cunningham hopes this sparks some interest.
“Here in Telkwa we’ve had a struggle to keep up our membership,” he says. “I thought I should try this grass roots program with the junior firefighters and getting the teenagers into the hall and hopefully down the road, they’ll pay some dividends to Telkwa Fire.”
The hands-on program starts tomorrow and is for 14-17 year olds.
Anyone interested can join the meeting at the hall on the highway at 7p.m.
