The Smithers Public Library has some new technology on its shelves.
There is now a DVD collection and I-pads.
Library director Wendy Wright says a lot of people aren’t aware that libraries are always changing and keeping up with the times.
“Libraries once upon a time only had books and newspapers,” she says. “Today, libraries are about connecting people with information and ideas and that can come in many different forms, that can be digital, through the internet, learning apps for children.”
The first 100 DVDs have hit the shelves and Wright says they are moving quickly.
She says to look out for more popular and classic movies for adults, teens and children that will be arriving through out the year.
