Hazelton councillors to meet on a boat

The Village of Hazelton is expanding their office to include the space in the replica riverboat on Government Street.
Mayor Alice Maitland says their current space is too small.
“We thought of moving the village office to another building but we really like it where it is,” she says.”So we thought we could use the river boat for a board room, hold meetings there and in the summer it can be sort of visitor centre.”
Council meetings will now be held in the riverboat and Maitland is hoping to also get some office space for herself in there.
The village has not yet decided if they want to lease back the upper half of the boat to the art gallery.
