As BBQ season gets underway, you may be shelling out a few extra dollars for steaks and burgers.
Homesteader Meats President Ben Klassen says over the past while, meat prices have been seeing a steady increase.
Klassen says one of the reasons for the increase is in the United States there has been a lot of crop failures, which has resulted in rising cattle feed prices which then affects beef prices.
He says since steaks are in high demand this time of year you may have to pay a higher price to get it.
Klassen says according to his suppliers, they expect the price of beef to keep climbing for the next while.
