Glacier Cafe now open at Airport

The departure of one familiar face means one new arrival at the Smithers airport.

Hawkair stopped flights out of Smithers on August first, coincidentally the day before Glacier Cafe began offering its services.

The company replaces Budwood Bean that had been occupying the space since 2011.

Owner and operator Shilo Werrell shares what makes he shop different from ones in the past.

“We’re just hoping to offer something that people really enjoy and have a trend of grab-and-go kind of items. I think that’ll be beneficial to the airport,” she says.

Werrell says customers already have a few favourites. She sells out of herb and veggie sandwiches, and bacon, chive and cheddar muffins every day.

The Glacier Cafe is open 7 AM – 8 PM Sunday through Friday.
