Cardboard collection no longer garbage

In an attempt to reduce the amount of trash in landfills, cardboard will no longer be accepted as garbage by this time next year.

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako recently made this decision, which will come into effect July 1st, 2016.

While cardboard won’t be accepted at landfill or transfer stations, the RDBN will create cardboard recycling drop-offs for residents.

The same can’t be said for most businesses, which will have to manage their own cardboard disposal.
