Performances from a few Canadian country stars on Sunday night wrapped up this year’s Telkwa Barbecue concerts.
King & Cash’s performance with Aaron Pritchett warmed up the crowd. Juno-award winner Brett Kissel was not to be outdone, proving it with his energetic set.
The passionate crowd weathered the brisk temperatures to sing along to each of Kissel’s songs, something he says is memorable.
“You can’t put that into words, how special that is,” he says, “for me, to grab somebody’s phone and videotape the whole thing and have them sing along that chorus of a song that I wrote; that is just a really special circumstance and a really special and unique opportunity for me.”
The Barbecue will continue Monday with the demo derby finale and beef-on-a-bun lunch.
