Recent vandalism in Telkwa parks has left townspeople “upset.”
Property in both Riverside and Eddy Park were defaced over the weekend.
Among the damages were two memorial benches, one of which was thrown off the bridge. Both benches were found in the river and are beyond repair.
These benches are meant to commemorate townspeople who have passed away.
A Village spokesperson says could cost up to $1000 each to replace.
There was also a third bench and picnic table defaced but are believed to be repairable.
There have been reports of two males in their late teens to early 20’s allegedly committing the acts, but these have not been confirmed.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Village office or police.
