Smithers resident receives UBC award

A Smithers resident doctor was presented the Ceder Award for December thanks to his contributions to the UBC Department of Family Practice.

It is given out every two months by the department, and the December recipient was Dr. Marlowe Haskins.

Part of the nomination was from his work organizing the Essential Surgical Skills Course through UBC which includes practitioners from rural BC.

His primary practice is at the Northern Roots Primary Care clinic in Smithers, and McLean added he’s known to go canoeing, hiking and running in his free time.
