About 60 people were at Seymour Lake for New Years Day to partake in the Polar Plunge.
Event organizer Leandra Wiebe said taking dips into the frozen lake is something she’s done before.
“This is something I do almost daily, and I figured I would make an open event and see if there’s any interest, and there is.”
Not everyone who went out made the plunge, about 25 people jumped into the water.
While this was the first time the event was held, she said there’s interest in making it annual or weekly.
