Winter weather continues to blanket the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District.
Environment Canada has issued an extreme snowfall warning for the region for tonight (Monday).
“For Smithers and Burns Lake, that area should be seeing a 10-centimetre hit today with the potential of seeing two to four through the evening hours before tapering off,” said Armel Castellan, Warning Preparedness Meteorologist.
He added the snow comes with a warming of temperatures over the next few days as wind currents change.
“We have a –5 [high] on Sunday so it’s a gradual warm up for sure, it’s not going to be immediate like the decent into these cold temperatures.”
An extreme cold warning was in effect for the region last week, no new record low temperatures were set.
