Smithers RCMP responded to a Broadway Avenue residence today (Wednesday) where a man appeared to be in distress.
Due to a potential firearms presence and out of an abundance of caution, police had neighbours and a nearby school shelter in place.
Mounties were successful in having the man safely exit the home where he was apprehended.
No injuries were reported because of the incident.
