B4B raise one-tenth of needed funding for new park

Giant and essential steps were made this summer that helped secure the future of Smithers’ skate park.

The project doesn’t even have a design, but project head Jason Krauskopf has been given $50,000 from local grants, businesses, and non-profits to put towards the park

He says this shows the community’s support in both the project and the organisers.

“This is just in good faith,” he says, “they believe in the cause, they trust me, they trust the other people in the organisation and in our group that are putting this project forward and that means a lot to have the trust of these people with their money.”

Spectrum Skateparks will be in town October 8th to hold a community input meeting to help design the skatepark.

Jay says if all goes well, the project could be done my the end of next summer.
