Madelaine Swift stepping down as Houston CAO

After just over a month in the chair, Madelaine Swift has announced she will be stepping down as the District of Houston Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

She started with the district in 2021 as Deputy Director of Corporate Services and moved into her current role in late February.

“It has been an incredible honor and privilege to work alongside such an exceptional and dedicated team,” Swift said in her departing remarks.

She will be moving back to her hometown of Hazelton to be closer to support her family.

“On behalf of Council, I want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Madelaine Swift for her steadfast commitment to serving our community,” said Mayor Shane Brienen.

The search for the next Houston CAO will begin in the coming weeks, with Swift’s final day being May 17th.
