Property sale numbers went in different directions in the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District according to new data by the BC Northern Real Estate Board.
So far in 2024, 32 properties worth a combined $15.7 million have changed hands in Smithers, about 25 % or eight more than were sold by this time last year.
Last year, the total value of properties sold was $11.9 million.
In Burns Lake, property sales took a dip to eight exchanges from last year’s 10 along with a $1 million dip in total sales value.
As of March 31st, 76 homes were on the market in the Smithers area and Burns Lake saw a year-over-year increase from 57 to 72.
