“We are pleased to provide grants for these worthwhile projects across the region and support Seniors and recreational opportunities for residents and tourists,” said NKDF Chair Cindy Shelford.

$50,000 is going to help perform foundation repairs at the Grassy Plains Community Hall and restore the venue for community use.

Upgrades are also set to be performed at the Eagle Creek Fair Grounds in Burns Lake ahead of the 78th Annual Lakes District Fall Fair thanks to a $40,000 grant.

$8,000 is going to the Village of Burns Lake for a new Kayakomat station at Radley Beach for easier kayak rentals.

The onsite fuel storage system at the Omnica Ski Club is getting upgraded thanks to $6,346, allowing for more efficient ski trail grooming.

In Fraser Lake, the Silver Birch Lodge will be getting $38,375 for a new sidewalk and 5 paved parking stalls.

The Nechako Valley Sporting Association Nechako Nordics received $11,000 to purchase and modify a 40-foot C-can to create a shop for equipment repair and summer storage of grooming equipment.

“Our communities are vibrant and healthy thanks to the dedicated volunteers that make these projects possible,’ said Shelford.
