The Special Olympics fundraising raffle is the hot ticket in town, having sold over two-thirds of all their tickets.
For ten dollars, participants have a shot at locally crafted furniture, a signed Dan Hamhuis jersey, and even a paid trip-for-two to see the Canucks in March.
Fundraiser Head Donna Smith says it’s easy to support these athletes after seeing them compete.
“I think if they ever came and watched an event, they’d be absolutely amazed at how happy it makes our athletes,” she says, “it’ll totally floor you to watch our athletes in the competition and how much it means to them.”
All the funding will support local athletes and their travel costs.
Tickets can be purchased in stores around town including Lokks Salon, Speedee Printers, Louise’s Kitchen, HyTech Drilling, and Western Financial.
