Nominations are open for the Smithers and District Chamber of Commerce’s Community & Business Excellence Awards.
The annual event recognizes businesses, organizations, and individuals in the area around Smithers and Telkwa that have made an impact in the community.
“These awards reflect the resilience and dedication of our local businesses, community service groups, volunteers and leaders,” said Chamber President Trever Morris.
“Every nomination is a meaningful way to support and appreciate those who work tirelessly to build a stronger, more vibrant community and economy.”
Last year’s event saw 17 awards won with this year seeing a new category called Mining and Resource Excellence.
It would go to a business or individual in the mining, forestry, energy, and other resource industries who demonstrate leadership, sustainability, and community impact.
The awards gala is set for April 5th at the Dze L K’Ant Indigenous Cultural Centre.
Nominations can be submitted here until February 27th.
