Telkwa to Partner with Region on Big Projects

Telkwa council might be partnering with the region when it comes to funding larger projects.

Mayor Darcy Repen says it will help cut future costs like a 150 thousand dollar cost to deal with sewage sludge in the lagoons.

“The opportunities are there, or with Smithers, with dealing with things like salt waste management. The regional district has a study on the books to commence this year in terms of aeration of sewage lagoons,” says Mayor Repen.

He says with the tax revenue of the town being under 800 thousand dollars, making partnerships will be a great way to move forward.
