The Houston Community Services Association will receive $307,952 for 58 childcare spaces

The province will be spending nearly 11.3 million dollars on child-care funding.

The Houston Community Services Association will be receiving over 307 thousand dollars of that money to create 58 childcare spaces at the Beanstalk Child Care centre.

Angelique Batley, Coordinator of Houston Community Services, says they’ll be building a new building that’s roughly twice the size.

“they’re granting up to 80 per cent of the costs…we’re responsible for coming up with the 20 per cent that’s remaining on the funding.”

The total costs are estimated between 300 – 500 thousand dollars.

The new building will create 8 infant spaces, something that’s new to the community

Batley says they expect to be finished by September for the upgrade.
