It’s for the town’s third annual Emergency Preparedness Day to coincide with the province’s Emergency Preparedness Week.
The goal is to help provide education around emergency preparedness and FireSmart.

Along with the the fire department and BESS, B.C. Ambulance, B.C. Wildfire Service, Telkwa Fire Department, Bulkley Valley Search and Rescue, and Smithers RCMP have been invited.
“Based on operational necessity, some of those organizations will be able to participate, some of them may not be able to participate,” said Herzog.
The main event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
New this year is a community screening of the film “The Test”.
“It highlights the FireSmart efforts of the community of Logan Lake over the years, as well those efforts being tested by a wildfire in 2023,” said FireSmart Coordinator Shane Vandenwater.
It will take place at the Smithers Fire Department with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
