The Smithers Steelheads took two games on the chin during the team’s first road trip of the 2026/27 Central Interior Hockey League season.

On Saturday, the Steelheads lost 8-1 against the Quesnel Kangaroos with Matthew Tucker scoring the team’s lone goal in the 3rd period.

The next day was even tougher, bringing an 11-1 loss against Quesnel despite Smithers’ Dylan Oud netting the first goal of the game.

Both teams head to Smithers this weekend for the Steelheads’ home opener double-header.
