After receiving funding from Creative BC and the Province of BC, the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce has been developing a Music Strategy and Economic Impact Study of music, events, festivals, and businesses.
The strategy draft will be available to hear tonight (May 30th) from 5-7 pm at the Smithers Art Gallery.
Smithers District Chamber of Commerce Manager, Heather Gallagher, says this event is more aimed towards music stakeholders in the community, however, anyone is able to attend.
“Arts, culture, and music can contribute a significant amount to a community. We want people to enjoy Smithers and hopefully, this strategy makes it more of an attractive town. The standard of living will certainly increase with more music opportunities in the community.”
