Cougars’ Ravensbergen earns Rookie of the Week honours

The legend of the Berger continues to grow.

Prince George Cougars netminder Josh Ravensbergen has been named WHL Rookie of the Week.

Ravensbergen stopped all 33 shots he faced on Friday in Prince George’s 5-0 win over Portland in game one.

While Saturday was a 5-3 losing effort for the 17-year-old, he still made 33 saves on 37 Portland shots he faced.

Throughout nine appearances this post-season, he has earned an 8-1-0-0 record, with a .934 save percentage and 1.89 GAA.

He’s also earned three shutouts, including back-to-back shutouts in games one and two against Kelowna in their second round series.

This is the second time Ravensbergen has been named the WHL Rookie of the Week, on top of three WHL Goaltender of the Week selections and one WHL Goaltender of the Month selection.

The Cougars are back in action tonight for game three against the Winterhawks.
