UPDATED: Vegas police find 18 firearms in shooter’s home

UPDATE, MONDAY 4:30PM:

Las Vegas authorities have searched the home of the 64-year-old gunman who opened fire at a country music festival Sunday night.

Sheriff Joseph Lombardo says officers found 18 additional firearms in Stephen Paddock’s Mesquite, Nevada home as well as explosives, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and several electronic devices.

According to local media reports, the Clara County coroner believes the death toll, currently at nearly 60 people, is likely to increase.

A state of emergency has also been declared.

Paddock also injured more than 500 people at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival before killing himself, and before police could take him into custody.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the mass shooting.

A Maple Ridge man has been killed in the deadliest shooting in modern US history.

23-year-old Jordan McIldoon is being identified as one of the nearly 60 people dead at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival Sunday night, after a gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.

In a statement, Premier John Horgan calls the attack a senseless act of violence.

“Our hearts are with those affected by the shooting. To Jordan’s family, and the family and friends of all those who have lost their lives, we offer our condolences and support.”

He also thanks the Las Vegas first responders in getting people to safety, while putting their own lives at risk.

“When dark acts seek to shake our faith in humanity, we look to those who have come forward to help. Their selfless acts of heroism are what build the strong and caring communities we all want to be a part of.”

Multiple reports have indicated a 23-year-old Maple Ridge man has been killed along with three other Canadians in the deadliest shooting in modern US history.

Las Vegas authorities say the death toll has now reached nearly 60 people and more than 500 injured at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival Sunday night.

Police believe 64-year-old Stephen Paddock is the gunman who opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, as investigators say he killed himself before he could be taken into custody.

It is also being reported a single Edmonton mother of four children was killed in the shooting.
