Provincial funding aids northern BC manufacturing company expansion

Silverstone Exploration, an industrial mining company in Topley, is one of four manufactures recently announced to receive funding from the province.

They are getting as much as $24,750 from the BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund to help expand their product line in the United States market.

“Since the first project was announced in June last year, the BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund has been a catalyst for creating good jobs and growing local economies across B.C. by bolstering our province’s manufacturing sectors,” said Brenda Bailey, Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation.

To achieve their goal, Silverstone will be using the funds to purchase new equipment and plan activities for a future capital project.

The $180-million fund supports for-profit organizations to plan and launch projects that bring direct benefits and jobs to communities, while driving growth throughout the province.

Also receiving funding are:

  • Novo Textile Company in Coquitlam ($584,000)
  • Big Eddy Machine Shop in Revelstoke ($152,270)
  • Vitalis Extraction Technology in Kelowna ($25,000)

Silverstone does industrial mining and makes custom architectural stone products for building applications in western Canada and the US.
