Smithers vs. Revelstoke for Bike Week Battle

Smithers has been challenged to a cross-provincial bike battle. Challenge accepted.

Revelstoke Mayor Mark McKee has proposed a match for the upcoming Bike to Work Week BC.

The winner town will be the community with the most cyclists multiplied by the most kilometres biked.

Mayor Taylor Bachrach knows the odds may be stacked against Smithereens, but he is fearless.

“Am I scareD? Do I look scared? Revelstoke is an awesome community as well awesome, a little mountain town, and I imagine that citizens there like to get on their bikes as much as they do here. But we’ve got that extra little Smithereen edge and I’m pretty confident that we’ll come out on top,” he says.

Make sure to support the town during Bike to Work Week BC, which runs from May 25 – 31st.
