Down “Towne” Medieval Performance

The Smithers Library will be putting on a unique show at this weekend’s Street Festival.
The Society for Creative Anachronism will be demonstrating their love and knowledge of the Dark ages.
Each performer creates a character and, as Smithers Librarian Wendy Wright explains, put a lot of time and effort into bringing it to life.
“[The Society for Creative Anachronism performer] dress like that character, they used a name that would’ve been used in that time, they pick an occupation they would’ve done, they research how their clothes were made, what they would’ve worn, how they would speak. Everything!” she says.
These medieval performers will be outside the Library on Saturday showing off their heavy fighting and character starting at 2 pm
